Welcome to 6th grade! My name is Nicole Van Hooser. I graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor Science degree in Elementary Education in May of 2019. I currently live near Forest City with my puppy Tank and my boyfriend, however, I grew up and attended school here in Lye until I graduated in 2017. I also graduated from Riverland Community College with an AA Degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education in 2017. This is my second year of teaching, and I am excited for a great year!

Teaching has always been an interest and passion of mine. I want to positively impact each and every student I meet. I also want to help my students by giving them different ways to learn using technology, hands-on activities, cooperative and independent learning, and skill building in my classroom. Every student learns differently, and I want to make sure your child has a positive learning experience so then they will love to learn!

I want to prepare the 6th grade students for middle school by giving them the right skill set to succeed once they enter 7th grade. My classroom is organized, structured, and a lot of the responsibilities are placed on the students. Please feel free to email or call me with any comments or concerns. The school's number is (507)-325-2201. The best times to reach me Mondays-Thursdays are in the morning or after 2 p.m., and Fridays 7:40-3:20. I will respond to your emails in less then 24 hours.
