Welcome to 6th grade! My name is Nicole Van Hooser. I graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor Science degree in Elementary Education in May of 2019. I currently live in Garner with my puppy Tank and my boyfriend, however, I grew up and attended school here in Lyle until I graduated in 2017. I also graduated from Riverland Community College with an AA Degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education in 2017. This is my third year of teaching, and I am excited for a great year!

Teaching has always been an interest and passion of mine. I want to positively impact each and every student I meet. I also want to help my students by giving them different ways to learn using technology, hands-on activities, an inclusive classroom where every student's needs are met and accepted, learning on their own and in groups, and building lifelong and necessary skills in my classroom. Every student learns differently, and I want to make sure your child has a positive learning experience so then they will love to learn!

I want to prepare the 6th grade students for middle school by giving them the right skill set to succeed once they enter 7th grade. My classroom is organized, structured, and a lot of the responsibilities are placed on the students. Please feel free to email or call me with any comments or concerns. The school's number is (507)-325-2201. The best times to reach me during the school week are in the morning before 7:40 or after school has ended from 3:00-3:20 p.m. I will respond to your emails in less then 24 hours.
