Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 allows students (with an impairment or disability) to receive accomodations put in place to help them succeed academically when there is a substantial limitation to at least one major life activity.  This could include the following areas:  learning, caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, breathing, working, eating, standing, lifting, reading, concentrating, thinking, standing, bending, sleeping, and communicating.  If you believe that your child falls into this category, please contact me directly as I am the 504 Coordinator for Lyle Public School.
