Here is a little about me. I grew up in Oakland, MN and went to school in Austin. I graduated from Wartburg College in 2005. This will be my 13th year in my teaching career. In those 13 years I have taught a little bit of everything. My first school I worked at was Bugonaygeshig on the Leech Lake Reservation, where I taught high school Math, 5th grade, and 1st grade. Then we moved “back home” and I worked in Owatonna teaching reading interventions and 6th grade Language Arts and Science. This year will be my 5th year teaching here at Lyle in 2nd grade. Every position has taught me so much about teaching and working with students. With all of those different positions and experiences in my background though, I feel the primary age is my true passion.
When I am not at school, I am with my family. My husband and I celebrated our 13th anniversary this year. We have two boys. Jasper who is 10 and going into 5th grade and Carson who is 8 and is starting 3rd grade at Blooming Prairie Elementary. I also love to spend time with both sides of our extended family.I am so thrilled to get the year started. I am here to help your students learn and grow into lifelong learners and caring citizens. I am here for you and your child. If there is anything that you need please feel free to call, email, or stop into the classroom!
