Hello! My name is Kate Hartman and I will be the upper elementary special education teacher here at Lyle Public School. This will be my first year teaching, in which I'm looking very forward to!

A little background about myself - I grew up in a small town in Iowa (Northwood) where I graduated in 2010. I then spent my first two years of college at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA where I played basketball and received my AA degree. In 2012, I transferred to Winona State University in Winona, MN where I continued my education and basketball career. In December 2014, I graduated from WSU with my Bachelors Degree in Special Education Learning Disabilities.

The first year after graduation, I spent college coaching at Kirkwood, but knew my heart belonged back in the classroom. For the next year and a half, I was a paraeducator in my hometown at Northwood-Kensett. This past half school year, I spent my time as a full-time substitute teacher in Lyle, where I enjoyed getting to know the staff and students. This lead me to taking the special education position!

I currently live in Glenville, MN with my boyfriend Marshal and our adorable puppy, Georgie. I like to spend my outside time being with friends and family, as well as being outside and playing any sports!

Looking forward to a great school year and being apart of the Lyle family!
