Welcome to Lyle Public School
The 2025–2026 school year marks my ninth year as an administrator in Lyle and my sixth year serving as Superintendent, High School Principal, and Transportation Director. I am honored to serve in these roles and remain deeply committed to advancing the mission of Lyle Public School by providing a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment for every student.

Professional Background
I grew up on a dairy farm near Freeport, Minnesota, and graduated from Melrose High School in 1996. Following graduation, I completed Basic Training and Airborne School and was assigned to the Old Guard at Fort Myer, Virginia, located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. In this capacity, I conducted hundreds of funerals at Arlington National Cemetery and other local cemeteries, supported missions at the Pentagon and the White House, and participated in parades, dignitary arrivals, and ceremonial events throughout the capital region.
My greatest professional honor from this period was serving as a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I was awarded the Tomb Guard Identification Badge, becoming the 459th individual to earn this distinction. Since its establishment in 1958, fewer than 800 individuals have received this recognition. Additional information is available at tombguard.org.
Following active duty, I pursued a degree in Elementary Education at St. Cloud State University while serving in the Minnesota National Guard. My teaching career began at Kaleidoscope Charter School in Otsego and STRIDE Academy in St. Cloud. I later served as principal at Rothsay Public School, Fairmont Area Schools, and STRIDE Academy. This year marks my 22nd year in education.

Personal Interests
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I enjoy sports, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with my wife and family.  We have three children - Evan is in the Air Force, Aubrey is in college, and Isaac attends school here in Lyle.

Commitment to Lyle Public School
Lyle Public School is a district with strong values, dedicated staff, and a bright future. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our educators, families, and community partners to ensure that all students have access to exceptional opportunities and the highest-quality education.
